FUck! You mean only 39% approve of Yes? And a whole 61% disapprove of Yes? And 78% approve of No. Damn. A measly 22% disapproving of No.... What the fuck? And can we please get this graph in some colors more likely to be indistinguishable to colorblind folks? No? (up to 79% now) Red and green are already the most likely ones? Well shit.

Why do Turkish soldiers wear Dipers/nappies?
Beacause they piss on themselves with fear when confronted by Greeks and Armenians.

What do you call Turkish Military Parades?
Gay Pride Mardi-Gras'.

What happens when two Turks try to have a quick conversation?
It turns into A Mentally Challenged Marathon.

How did the Armenian zoo-keeper get to still keep his job and earn a promotion, with the chimpanzee missing from its cage?
He simply replaced it with a Turk.

Soooooo,, hello everybody it's cars and more Armenia talk. I was congratulated for my Hell dumpery upthread. helldump was a magical place on another forum that brought us such stories as 8-Track the pedophile moderator and all our other favorite Goons that I definitely remember. Helldump was a sort of cargo cult eXile type situation on a shitty discussion platform where the powerful (meaning, moderators of the shitty forum it was on) were brought low or something, and also a whole bunch of bad shit happened, who cares, not important.

BUT: what i would hope to do here instead is provide an account of avenues of United States funding abroad, funding used to gather information for the ruling class of the United States and to dominate foreign media conversations by disguising the political interests of U.S. capitalists as independent discussion. I hope to establish some links between "media laboratories" and extremely powerful ngos such as NDI that exercise a form of quasi-national policy abroad for a single political party in the united states (the Democrats), and the unification of these interests with the World Bank, the IMF and other transnational capitalist powers for the purpose of combating challenges to their existing and future interests.

i will try to focus on institutional information and eschew vulgar Mark-Ames-style gawking at the way individual actors slot themselves, with uncanny aim, into the goofiest caricatures their critics might paint. I will do that, Next time, because this post is about the public career of our great good U.S. State Department friend from last time, "MediaLab.am" editor-in-chief and mysterious International Journalist Organizer, Marianna Grigoryan.

*stands in the crater from the Matrix 3 & drives hands upwards into pounding rain* ghh.nnnngghh.,,,gendeRRRRRR

Marianna Grigoryan is the head honcho of Armenia-based U.S. State Department front group MediaLab.am. MediaLab.am describes itself as "an independent balanced media laboratory providing true unbiased..." and it just goes on like that. As I demonstrated in my previous post, MediaLab.am claims to be founded and run by something called "Umbrella Journalists' International Network NGO" («Ամբրելլա» միջազգային լրագրողների ցանց ՀԿ-ի կողմից). This perplexing "International Network" appears to have no Web presence whatsoever except a single page that simply redirected back to the MediaLab.am Web site front page between 2011-2013 according to the Internet Archive. Then, in 2013, the page was removed completely from the public Web. This is a strange behavior for an NGO that won international grants from a United States federal agency and claims to be the parent company of an active, existing media concern, although the funding for Grigoryan's activities has shifted somewhat (more on that later).

As I showed in the same post, the actual funding for MediaLab.am, as awarded to that spectral NGO, is from something called "Alternative Resources in Media". "Alternative Resources in Media" funds "media laboratory" (sexy!) projects in Armenia by exercising a simple rule to determine what constitutes independent journalism: if someone agrees with United States policy, and is sufficiently anti-Moscow, they are "independent". If they do anything else . . . well, if I had to guess, they don't even hear about the competition for grant money.

The page announcing the grant award for MediaLab.am displays this interesting tidbit of information:

We the People

"Alternative Resources in Media" was a project with a specific and notable avenue of funding: the Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC) organization. As described in another previous post o' mine, True Believers, CRRC boasts an Armenian address on the Internet, but also describes itself as a joint project funded by the World Bank, the U.S. State Department, and the National Democratic Institute (NDI), that is, the extra-legal, crisis-exploiting foreign policy arm of the United States Democratic Party.

CRRC has offices across the Caucasus countries, where the World Bank, the United States government and NDI fund projects that mostly involve massive survey data collection and pro-Western, anti-Russian influence-peddling, but under Armenian bylines that claim "independent" Armenian origins. Regardless, most of these projects appear to be completely funded by the United States government. This is done under the exact sort of information laundering you see in this example: fund an organization (CRRC) that funds an organization (Alternative Resources in Media) that funds an organization ("Umbrella International NGO") that funds an organization (MediaLab.am). These organizations may award grants to each other, presenting the absurd situation of the U.S. State Department competing for the very funding it disburses, winning contests against itself that are judged by its proxies abroad.

CRRC seems to be the central hub of these pro-NATO stealth projects in the Caucasus. It's run by all sorts of ex-British-military, ex-Brussels-ambassador-from-the-Republic-of-Eternal-Euro-Debt, KPMG accounto-consultant-entrepreneurs and other non-Caucasus-type creeps; it used to cooperate with the current Armenian government to carry out a national survey of Armenian attitudes about corruption, but that halted suddenly and quietly after the last survey in 2010. These mendacious punks and their many, many, many projects deserve a post all their own, and that's what's next after this one. But I mentioned this was going to be a squirrely dive at mocking the self-promotion of someone who does their dirty work, so now that you have full context, let's get back to the show.

Marianna Grigoryan graduated from journalism school in Yerevan in the late 1990s. Her next resume line, as seen above, is a prize she won from USAID (the aforementioned arm of the U.S. State Department) less than two years later. Her next listed resume line after that is a prize she won from OSCE, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, a hangout-club-cum-foreign policy instrument for the rulers of Western Europe. Grigoryan worked on projects and organizations directly funded by these umbrella groups, leading to her current role as head of MediaLab.am and a 10-year-long career as a writer for Eurasianet dot org, an aggregator of U.S.-influenced opinion often consulted by the armchair warriors of the pro-NATO/pro-Kiev/anti-Assad blogger brigade.

OSCE has been used primarily to extend NATO influence east of NATO's official sphere, into Eurasia and as close to Russia's borders as possible. "Security and Co-operation" under Western direction turns out to be popular in some circles, not so popular in others, as a recent headline demonstrates:

picture of sergey naryshkin enhanced to accommodate audience

as you can see, OSCE is just humming away in all areas of NATO interest near russia, providing second-by-second updates on the great struggle (or "Kampf") of the Nazi-glorifying fascist coup running Kiev, as well as trying to corral Caucasus regional political leaders into negotiations—in the West's house, naturally. and I guess they also hand out awards for journalism on Environmental Issues to graduates who push anti-Russian propaganda? it's a big operation.

Grigoryan has secured funding time after time from the interlocking multiplex of Western funding through a style of non-journalism perfected in the United States by outlets such as VICE and pseudo-opinionated blitherers such as Molly Crabapple, to wit:
  • describe all current U.S./NATO policy as a shining moral crusade,
  • describe any problems caused by U.S./NATO policy as the nefarious influence of NATO's rivals,
  • treat all dubious missives from the U.S. State Department's agents as Gospel,
  • describe any Eurasian politician who supports trade deals/diplomatic ties with Moscow as a Hitler-esque homophobic B-movie monster,
  • describe any critic of the United States' wars abroad as a fluoride-paranoid Truther,
  • in between, write about topics such as Sex, dildos, the writer's own burlesque shows, vaginas, penises, Freedom, Liberty, penises, penises, penises, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, and sex.

This Boner-oriented NATO propaganda approach provides a natural lure for Horny Jacobin Boys and other hip young pseudo-Commies, as well as netting Google hits from young Armenians looking for contemporary sex chit-chat and the semi-journalists of U.S. liberal re-blog publications such as Mother Jones and Salon. The sex angle also provides all the benefits of search engine optimization for porn seekers who nurse a secret paraphilia for the exotic but ardently pro-American. (For anyone doubting that such appeal exists, see the rising career of Australian "pro-American" Nick Adams, which has no other explanation that I can see.)

Perhaps most importantly, mixing propaganda with sex talk allows the "pinkwashing" of all U.S. policy, from Kiev to Tel Aviv. The Nazis who run Kiev passed a McCarthy-style law banning socialist and communist groups from expressing their views or associating with each other, but, you see, Moscow is in a period of official disinterest and social dispute over the legal status of LGBT persons, that is, it's where the United States was a few years ago. Therefore, the pro-Western government in Kiev must not be run by Nazis who openly declare their support in public squares for the WWII-era Ukrainian Nazi collaborationist government, no matter how many times they get photographed and quoted doing exactly that, Q.E.D. That's "VICE logic" in action. (For more on the topic, see "SPOOKS: a dystopia" (Quangel, 2014)).

In the case of Grigoryan's career, the context is a quiet anti-Russian war waged by Western capitalists, and Western governments, over Armenia's energy interests. its most recent outgrowth is the "Electric Yerevan" movement, a protest over utility hikes that metastasized instantaneously into a "regime change" "color revolution". Funny how that keeps happening over completely unrelated and relatively minor populist issues! isn't it! isn't it?!?!

Members of the "Electric Yerevan" leadership circle have explained that the "spontaneous" movement in Yerevan both is and isn't partnered to the fascist "Euromaidan" in Kiev, and both does and does not support Euromaidan's IMF-prescribed goals (clear enough? good.) The background (more on this next time) is that companies from the United States have been buying up hydroelectric plants in Armenia, while the Sargsyan government in Yerevan has continued to pursue closer ties with the East through its membership in the Eurasian Economic Union. Armenia's interests in joining EEU are pretty obvious: it allows Sargsyan's government to hedge its bets on energy through negotiations for better rates on gas. That is, it undercuts any planned Western dominance over other energy resources in Armenia.

Marianna Grigoryan, following the VICE model, uses MediaLab.am to cut together NATO propaganda lines with The Sexy Sex, like so:

First, MediaLab's EIC gives the boys at NATO a little sugar,

while back on the home site, Grigoryan tosses in a little Medialab.am spice:

Medialabe write about that later Michael!! I'm sorry, I shouldn't devote more space to Google Translate's desperate attempt to deal with this bullshit, but I kind of have to, because this is The Rhizzone as Seen In The Washington Post:

Straponner! heshtostner! *turns into an eagle and wipes tear from eye* R.i.p. to tpaine, who died

So what's in store next for Marianna Grigoryan, our intrepid NATO-naut from the electric avenues of the Yerevan comprador class?

I'd mentioned that the MediaLab.am freedom-liberty-dildo movement has switched funders, to yet another CRRC-associated anti-Moscow organization. And if you're wondering what happened to "Umbrella Journalists' International Network NGO", the illusory, elusive parent organization of Grigoryan's U.S.-funded "media laboratory", the answer is: Shut the fuck up, because Now, they've got a much more important and powerful pimp behind them. Medialab.am, once a tiny little foreign propaganda shell org, is now part of THe Big time. THey've hit it. THis is it. From a 2013 story:

The Open Society Foundations (OSF) comprise a number of policy-influence outlets seeded throughout the world. They are well-known for their semi-concealed anti-Moscow activities through CRRC and other organizations, and it's no secret as to why they bent like that:

OSF is the personal playground of anti-Moscow billionaire George Soros, who maintains a number of personal economic interests in Eurasia defended by "color revolution" coups. OSF in Armenia has taken a specific interest in backing the anti-government activities of Electric Yerevan, and the Grigoryan line follows the OSF line perfectly:

These "civil society" projects, that is, out-of-nowhere NGOs mobilized to promote coups against governments skeptical of NATO, are perhaps the biggest output of Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC), previously mentioned as the apparent Ur-project of NATO influence in the Caucasus and in Armenia.

As for the "independent" point of view on Eurasia these projects promote, issuing from Marianna Grigoryan's current slimelord, George Soros:

Next time, I'll take a closer look at CRRC and the projects it funds, as well as the massive data sets its pseudo-academic, U.S.-funded projects have collected on Armenian households, their financial status and their level of support for doing business with capitalists of different nationalities. Tschüss you fuckers.

prepare for struggle! do a Barrel roll

1) should avoid jive freud crap like "pimp" and "sugar", it didn't fool anyone when mark ames and matt taibbi did it and in the immortal words of Johnny Chen they "looked like a pair of wrestlers"
2) to clarify, i don't think there is a line of progress on "gay rights" and russia lies somewhere behind the united states, rather that much of the united states considered itself a socially liberal polity during a time in the very recent past when the laws in many places resembled those in russia today including extremely lax enforcement. as for the pop culture comparison i hope u liek sex and the city dubs in exactly 2 voices
3) the purpose of this crap btw is to put my stupid brute time into providing information that might inform a sentence or two in a clearer analysis by better writers on here. my class analysis is superficial, focused on the rivalry among the bourgeoisie and if the point is to provide a plan of action it is arguably sub-Marxist
4) always go for No no no cat over Michael Scott No no no no
