without those phone calls warning people of their imminent death, the relentless bombardment an open-air prison would certainly be problematic. talk about a game changer.

thats literally 10x the actual amount of "warning" they get irl. i was only half joking before. it really is just designed to flush their quarry out in the open in a panic. the Palestinians are quail and Israel is shaking the bush before they shoot

preaching to the choir mate. but it not a bad cartoon to share with less enlightened (read: apathetic mouth breather w/television) friends, who are squeamish when u say IDF is blood thristy. (tumblr says thats racist to say)

this guy reminded me of someone, but I couldn't think who. after a while it came to me. does anyone remember jeremi 'bomb north korea, before it's too late' suri? similar looks; both die-hard proponents of imperialism . . . and let's not forget about the repeated public displays of a peculiar brand of nihilistic viciousness. you see, these fellas really love to rhapsodize over large-scale indiscriminate violence.

“You have to understand the culture in which we live,” Kedar explained in the June 1 interview, according to a transcript published by Haaretz. “Terrorists like those who kidnapped the children and killed them — the only thing that deters them is if they know that their sister or their mother will be raped in the event that they are caught. What can you do, that’s the culture in which we live.”

“It’s very funny. They all talk about dying for jihad, but the minute they get attacked and start dying, they don’t want to die. All of a sudden they’re not so brave…"

whenever someone compares the Palestinian struggle to the US Civil Rights Movement or harshly criticizes Obama for his support of Israel there's a group of people on Twitter who will accuse them of "anti-blackness." the replies to this tweet are a good example:

‘GOD CHANGES PATH OF OUR ROCKETS’
By Barbara Ordman
A Mancunian who lives in Ma’ale Adumim on the West Bank

IN October, 1956, David Ben Gurion was interviewed by CBS. He stated: “In Israel, in order to be a realist, you must believe in miracles.”

But the Talmud Yerushalmi tells us that in no way are we to depend on miracles.

It argues that we must not desist from our obligations and must not wait for miraculous intervention from the Supernatural.

How perfectly relevant are both of these views today. We witness hourly miracles.

As one of the terrorists from Gaza was reported to say when asked why they couldn’t aim their rockets more effectively: “We do aim them, but their God changes their path in mid-air.”

Amen! And when our God is not busy doing that, He is ensuring that the high-tech brain power of our “start-up nation” is working overtime to produce yet another Iron Dome battery to help protect our cities and us.

So how are we all coping? Pretty well.

this is the problem with social justice internet people. they realize that accusations like this have power and throw them around like a 5 year old with swear words, without consideration of coherency

today a UN envoy in iraq held a press conference and was like "you guys.... holy fuck... ISIS just ordered four million women to be genitally mutilated. this is unacceptable!" and reuters immediately ran with it as a straight story, like, UN says four million women going under the knife. then some people started asking the most important question, which is, "huh?" and it turned out that it's possible the whole thing was a game of telephone between the "local tribes" (aka people) and the UN office, since ISIS possibly said the same thing a year ago (and nothing much happened) and it's possible someone just told them about that original directive. others pointed out that maybe ISIS had bigger headaches than trying to conform genitalia to their perception of islamic law, such as fighting a war, and that the imminent cutting of millions of women might not actually be top on the agenda.

anyway they asked the UN envoy about this and she was like oh well umm i'm not sure. so news services did the honourable thing and kept the headline at "four million women getting fucked up" and then simply suggested in the article that there was now some doubt about the story. now in the interest of interfaith dialogue i would suggest that maybe it's not a hot idea to run hard with such an inflammatory story based on very little evidence.
