Working with face to face with people in real life organizations makes me want to curl up in my room, never go outside, and eat garbage in front of my monitor for the rest of my life. I'm deeply appreciative of the friends and allies I have but the ones who could most make a difference are all at least half a continent away so the due diligence of trying to wrench some sanity out of a stupid situation falls to me. I hate this.

come to nyc and run the museum of stalin for me

that reminds me of this cool propaganda piece from last month http://www.businessinsider.com/new-museums-in-russia-are-airbrushing-stalins-legacy-2015-12?op=1

Scholars estimate that under Stalin more than 1 million people were executed in political purges. Millions more died of harsh labor and cruel treatment in the vast gulag prison camp system, mass starvation in Ukraine and southern Russia and deportations of ethnic minorities.

But as Russia faces isolation abroad and deepening economic troubles at home, retelling an abridged account of triumphs past has become increasingly fashionable. President Vladimir Putin frequently cites the Soviet victory in World War II — Stalin's most touted achievement — in vowing to stand up to the West and defend Russia's interests.

Tonight I saw the sold out first screening in Edmonton of Guantanamo's Child, the documentary about Omar Khadr's imprisonment and torture at bagram and gitmo beginning when he was 15 years old and the 12 years it took to free him. Omar Khadr was in attendance and did a Q&A alongside his lawyer Dennis Edney (they live here in Edmonton.) My face hurts from crying so much. It feels strange for me to be proud of this city, but I'm deeply appreciative of how the community has come together to be supportive of him.

In RL news: I am now are consistently putting in charge of a cashier at work now, which means more hours for me. On the downside, because I'm under 30, I have to constantly ask one of the managers to handle any alcohol purchases, which can become wearisome after awhile. Still, overall, things are going well.

I had a wellness exam, they took all sorts of measurements and the only thing wrong with me is my posture (the curve of cervical vertebrae are at -18 degrees when it shouldn't be +38. lol.) it's $1500 to treat because of my shitty insurance. cripes, at least give me cancer or something instead. If I complain about bad posture that's like the most boring Our Time Destroy Us complaint ever. I'm just going to call back and tell the doc nothing is wrong because I was having a bad posture day.
#2471
I had terrible posture like 15 years ago. Holy shit I'm getting old. Anyways the doctor said when I was 12 or so that I might need a brace. I kind of did fuck all about it for a decade, tried to straighten up. But now I'm pretty much good. But anyways the key for me was some small amount of exercise, push ups and planking, but mostly just sticking my chest out. You feel like a goober, cause it's like sticking out almost to your chin, but that's just the way you're supposed to stand apparently. Bon chance!
#2472
what the fuck is posture. anyway the doc just told me im gross+must quit smoking. fucking socialist healthcare, in the states a doctor will tell you you're fine+awesome if you pay him enough
#2473
my posture got really good when i lifted cuz of rows, deadlifts, and back hyperextensions but now i spend 8+ hours in a chair every day and it's shit again

I kind of feel like it was a scam because i always get into these unsavory situations. but they said my cervical vertebrae are too far forward, or something, which requires a lot of sessions of physical therapy. but I'm only 29 so I'll just Do exercises for a while and see what happens

#2475
i'm almost entirely positive posture/spine curvature shit is a scam unless your spine is like, obviously fucked up. my medical qualifications: none.
#2476
