the real nazis in the nazi bit of ukraine got really mad that all the coal was still coming from the donbass coal basin, the closest place w/ lots of coal so blocked all the coal. so the power stations which need coal in the nazi bit of ukraine are getting no coal. very lot of infighting between ukranian govt and the nazis. interesting.

speaking with some lithuanian friends who've lived in ireland the last 10 years... when they go back they are too scared to say anything about the way the country is being run, in ways they never were living in the USSR; both in terms of TV party line propaganda and getting beaten up on the street.

they also told me about devout muslims who kept portaits of lenin and stalin in their homes and offices that they met on their uzbek ssr hippy adventures in the 80s

honestly the kiev junta is going to collapse at some point in the near future, but this announcement seems like it can only benefit the fascists (why 'malorossiya'?). i'm guessing lugansk condemning it is more reflective of russia's position - which should at least show that the DPR isn't a russia puppet state or whatever first worldists like to say.

Russian envoy to the Contact Group on the Ukrainian settlement, Boris Gryzlov, said that the DPR leader's proclamation of a new state called Malorossiya doesn't fit in the Ukrainian reconciliation process as part of the Minsk deal, adding that it "is not a subject of realpolitik."

there's a book somewhere in how every accusation against Moscow in the last decade can be summed up as "people did things they were definitely going to do, for long-standing, well-known reasons, so let's try and figure out how Russia caused it"

like as a kid who attended in a public school in the U.S. i learned that ukraine was a split polity like two or three times and considering where i went to school that means everyone else did too especially ivy-league educated democrats and reporters, yet the narrative is still Putin Has Telepathy. but BLM was the sole topic of a bunch of Democrat blogs that didn't want to talk about Obama's wars so if you'd suggested to me that the same narrative would be mapped onto rallies against murder cops a few years ago i would have called you a conspiracy theorist, the Democrats seemed eager to exploit those for as long as they possibly could but hey Twitter is serious fucking business.
