I heard there is a good naomi klein documentary to watch about worker-run factories or some mess

this is lol! lol

"the take" is about argentine reclaimed factories, unless she has a new one or something. it sort of makes a liberal argument to some degree in my opinion, though, since it emphasizes that the factories were actually equivalent in total value to the amount of back pay due to the workers.

chavez is tweeting about him formula one cars + can probably live to get elected again but most people in the opposition think the cancer has spread to his lungs iuno

if that's true - and they're still treating it with chemo which is what the supposed leak says - he probably has balls cancer which is the kind of metastasis you probably get better from

argentine inflation is the same thing as in venezuela where a caravan of rightwing governments made bad decisions leading to absurdly high inflation all the way through the 90s but inflation is still relatively high in both of those countries (but much, much lower than previously) so the financial types decide to notice and blame it on Socialism and use it as an excuse for intervention.

argentina's been trying to game the international system a bit by adopting "mercantilist" policies while publishing rounded-down inflation figures. i'm not sure whether/how much that could backfire. venezuela has had a double exchange rate for years with no real problems for consumer prices, quite the opposite, but they're also an oil state. maybe someone else could explain this further?

i thought "that's bad, what would people say if the economist had a cartoon of obama as a witchdoctor". then i thought they probably actually do have cartoons of obama as a witchdoctor, with the headline "voodoo economics".

while they accept that there is no stable, exploitable long-run philips curve, wiccan macroeconomists do believe that moderate inflation is tolerable in the presence of powerful enough magicks, primarily the mixing of different types of charts in a thick green boiling brew.

“It’s my best work of art,” Chávez said after unveiling the painting. He also revealed that the paint “was still fresh” because he had “finished it last night.”
