i never understood why people spend so much money on computers when all they use them is for checking emails and adding cool effects to their pictures. i'd understand if you used your computer for work, but in that case why the fooock would you get a laptop?

Post more from the book on the Russian revolution, it's oddly inspiring that one of the greatest revolutions occurred with the involvement of a bunch of drunk joyriders.

BTW, I'm pretty sure I got banned from WDDP for posting that Occupy would never accomplish anything unless it eventually got violent. From a purely objective point of view.

if you think about it, like you know how the pen is mightier than the sword? then him buying a way to communicate with people and argue for communism on the internet in a logical and patient manner is actually a better investment than a literal weapon of the revolution, like you can win hearts and minds instead of shooting them of whatever GUESS WHAT, IM THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE

um no man no problem?????

i use ableton live and reason and recycle 2 make music thats why i didnt just buy a shitty 400 dollar pc notebook or w/e

you could have bought a clue, op

i figured that much, but it still doesn't make sense. the biggest ways i increased productivity in graphic design (workflow and hardware requirements in graphic design translate very well to audio production) was large dual monitors, solid state drive, fast CPU and good/fast RAM .
for 1,200 dollar you could build a desktop that specs better than the mac, plus buy two monitors and maybe some leftover for a professional soundcard.
unless it's imperative that you can make beats while chillin at starbucks. laptops are never a good idea for doing anything professional.
but if you're sticking with the mac save up for the solid state drive updgrade. you will be blown away how much faster your workflow will be after you get it.

hey dudes im a communist. labor theory of value, smash capitalism. i could get a laptop with identical hardware for $600, with more ability for repair and upgrade. but watch as i drop an additional $600, the average annual salary of 50% of the adults on the planet earth, on the name recognition of the biggest corporation by stock price in the world.
#52
i think if you told basically any of the early 20th century inventors of computing what people would actually end up using them for theyd smash the prototypes and burn the documentation
#53
hang on.... you can use this machine to turn the functioning of the economy into a semi-mystical realm that even its experts can't understand, kill people on the other side of the world with soulless mechanical birds of death, AND render western populations into throngs of gibbering autists capable of doing little but insisting that everyone they know remotely view pictures of the sandwich they had for lunch?? that sounds like a Great Idea

um....sea-punk?

why do people think that spending money on a computer that looks nice is a waste. i would much rather have a nice looking computer than one with better technical stats. are these the same people who don't go to museums because they can see the paintings online.
#79
you can build an all-in-one system that looks like a mac with superior components for half the price

it's not really an either/or proposition

you can even put mac os on it
#80
yea but that's like the difference between a reprdouction and the genuine article. most won't be able to tell the difference, but i'd rather see the old master chinese wage slave's labor congealed in the product than my own (rather competent) hand
