Argo had one of those really artificial groan inducing plots, like it was obvious the real events it was depicting were too boring and required all kinds of padding. Had some really awful paint by numbers subplots like the how hero has to earn everybody's trust, the bosses calling the mission off at the last second, etc. I'm surprised it was even in the running for best picture

Just watched Argo and it was boring and wrong, a mediocre thriller with no emotion or thought, utterly conventional, mindless patriotic liberalism.

i don't care at all about the oscars or whatever, however, i am actually unironically sad (or maybe disappointed, not sure) that one movie didn't win best picture -- that is, Atlas Shrugged 2: Galt Strikes back.

i tried watching that movie, and the opening scene was a white woman flying a two engine corporate jet into a wall, or something, while fervently yelling 'who is john galt'. i think it was an unironic reference to the white people who kamikazed planes into government buildings in protest of income taxes lol
