islam is a pretty shitty religion. even if we agree tentatively that it's not more inherently evil, it does require the most effort away from the baseline a religion should require, which is zero. praying all the time, not drinking alcohol, weekly worship services, learning a difficult language, wedlock-only sex, dressing up like ren faire on a budget. exhausting. no wonder they're pissed off so much

every moment of our lives in a gift from god. aligning ourselves with his will is not a chore, it brings limitless further gifts. if you do not see this yet it is because god needs you for other purposes. when you become aware of it it will be beautiful. each step you take towards god, god will take two steps towards you.

basically the more difficult a religion is to follow the more Real it probably is. the desires of a supreme being are not commensurable with a finite description in human language, much less consistent with human reason. islam is a good step but really we should be making pianos out of shark teeth and eating our own knees every other Wednesday

agreed with one clarification/stipulation: god takes two metaphorical steps toward you. in actuality god shuffles his feet in ways we cant even imagine, though it probably looks something like this http://youtu.be/XG4zvYyNpUU?t=23s

there's a comedian in egypt who pulls in 30 million viewers and his show is modeled after the daily show and people call him "egypt's jon stewart". hopefully the islamists ignore this troublemaker.
