the reason is on every single newspaper is because this is all a parade to work out what that effect will be
the event itself is more relevant because of the particular pattern of america as a failing hegemony (+ military while - economics)
a major event is just a world event but without the element of it effecting the world but this will effect the world and is a major event
therefore they can be swapped
the only way you can really construct this as not a world event is to rightly say that the actual mechanics of what occurred are not going to be directly significant to the majority of the worlds population (or even the majority of the american population) but even that misses the particular place of america which is far larger then the mechanics of a bomb blowing up
you could also comment on the fact that the actual world event consequences could be fairly lite considering the exact way this seems to be unfolding, we are not likely going to see a war developing out of this etc, however we can for sure expect it to allow america some space to shift around how it acts militarily in the world at least in the covert sense and that will effect the world
