Really sad day for all of us. A former bus driver without a degree is managing our rich country.

US refuses to accept Venezuela election result

By By MATTHEW LEE, Associated Press – 4 hours ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration is refusing to accept the official results of Venezuela's weekend presidential election, which gave victory to the protege of the country's late leftist leader Hugo Chavez.

The State Department said Tuesday that a full recount of the vote and an investigation into alleged irregularities were needed, given the close tally that almost evenly divided the country. On Monday, the U.S. had called for a full recount before results were certified but the election commission went ahead with certification without one.

The State Department said it was "difficult to understand" why the commission certified ruling party candidate Nicolas Maduro as the winner in the absence of a recount, which challenger Henrique Capriles is demanding.

It also condemned post-election violence that has killed at least seven people.

lose an election? just claim you won and allege fraud, contra the findings of national and international observers, and then begin shooting and burning your opponents alive. the voice of the democratic opposition in venezuela

this is that fat corpse chavez's fault anyway for two reasons:

1. instead of consolidating a socialist democracy based on single-party PSUV rule he allowed and even encouraged the opposition to regroup and openly criticize the government, eventually to the point where they were able to come within striking distance of taking power away from chavez's allies, setting the stage for today.

2. he probably got cancer from eating one hundred burgers every day.

It looks like they've been planning this for weeks.
http://venezuelanalysis.com/news/8397

Merida, March 26th 2013 (Venezuelanalysis.com) – Three opposition substitute legislators, Ricardo Sanchez, Carlos Vargas, and Andres Avelino announced publically yesterday that they were withdrawing their support for opposition candidate Henrique Capriles.

Sanchez, substitute legislator for Maria Corina Machado, alleged that the opposition alliance MUD have plans to not recognise the 14 April election results, and criticised Capriles’ campaign team for “encouraging a climate of instability and violence, where the terrible and painful consequence ...intensifies the perverse division between Venezuelans”.

Sanchez said he wanted to prevent opposition students from being used like “cannon fodder” as part of the supposed MUD plan.

He also called on the parliamentary committee for internal politics to investigate the alleged plan.

“The country demands responsibility from those who hold a government position, that’s why we’re withdrawing our support for Henrique Capriles,” Sanchez said.
