I read a Reason.com article about how conservatives are wrong for saying that this woman is no different from Caitlyn Jenner because "its not the same thing" and "theyre being disingenuous" but i was thinking about and like....if you present yourself as black....and everyone thinks youre black....then wouldnt everyone treat you AS IF you were black? which would mean actually living the black experience, correct? i mean Bill Clinton was black and he didnt even bother nappin his hair out or anything. really makes u think...probably even moreso if youre black

i would think that assuming the cultural roles, responsibilities, and drawbacks of a woman or african american in society due to deeply embedded bias clears the individual of unethical behavior in inheriting any privilege with said identification. The only exception would be the individual attempting to claim any historical right reserved for those with the correct background.

I could become a gangster rapper tomorrow with the right skillset. I could not, however, demand reparations from the City of New York for racial profiling in the 1980s.

I feel like people are unable to make this distinction, though.
