i have an $1800 hospital bill due tomorrow that i think im going to just....not pay

hospital bills are like homework right? they eventually just go away if you dont do them and someone maybe gets mad and yells at you and writes it down in a notebook somewhere and then you just go on living your life that will probably be marginally negatively affected by it in some academic or theoretical way that doesnt matter in the long run?

"yeah but it will negatively affect your credit rating and you wont be able to buy a new car or a house!" Oh really? Will it prevent me from marrying my supermodel girlfriend as well? Becoming President? Flying to the moon?

i thought obama fixed healthcare and made it socialistic

if you don't pay your bill than you can't be admitted to a hospital because they will all turn you away. but for liability reasons they can't turn away a sick person. so they will give you the pills they give celebrities that make it so you never get sick. however word will get out that a person not protected by the dark order has some of those pills. but you'll be able to fight off these guys because bullets can't hurt you. except silver bullets, meaning you're love of coors light beer. hope this helps.

Depends on the hospital. Some just forward the bill to an independent collection agency, and they then proceed to harass you via mail/phone at all hours of the day until you pay up + interest. Others take you directly to court and have the state garnish your wages. I'd work with the hospital and see if you can't set up a payment schedule. That, or become homeless in which case they won't bother and will probably treat you for free 4eva (well, at least in instances when you're on the verge of death... maybe).

i thought i had insurance when i went to the hospital (the only reason i even went in the first place), but the insurance company said my insurance only kicked in a month after my employee handbook says it was supposed to kick in. and even with insurance the bill wouldnt meet the deductible anyway, and it happened in December, meaning my yearly deductible amount would have started over on Jan 1 (the day my insurance company is saying my insurance started) anyway. So in other words, me having had insurance is literally functionally identical to me NOT having had insurance. Thanks, Obama.

my friend broke his leg skiing and had something like $40k in hospital bills, didnt have insurance, and somehow got them to settle on somewhere around $2k. thats all he paid.

meanwhile i had surgery on my broken foot, had shitty insurance, and ended up paying somewhere around $10k when all is said and done. not counting the ~$100 a month i paid for insurance in the 7 years prior when i never went to a doctor or hospital

AUSTIN, TX—Noting that the chances of one reaching the planet’s surface are largely dependent on speed and angle of entry, a study released Thursday by the University of Texas Department of Astronomy found that the majority of blessings from God burn up while passing through Earth’s atmosphere. “We discovered that due to the thickness and density of the gases surrounding our planet, 80 percent of God’s graces will completely disintegrate by the time they are about 75 to 100 kilometers away from the surface,” said professor Donald Northcote, adding that his team’s observations suggest that roughly 19 million of the Lord’s blessings vaporize in the mesosphere on any given day. “Even the largest and most generous of God’s gifts will be reduced to many minute fragments of His original intention during the journey, and the rare blessing that reaches the ground will be much smaller than it was in Heaven. Moreover, those divine blessings that manage to make it through the atmosphere typically fall harmlessly into the ocean without humans even realizing it.” Northcote told reporters that a particularly powerful blessing from God that struck Earth during the Cretaceous Period is believed to have wiped out 75 percent of the world’s species.
