as far as I can tell from spending some time there recently, the media there, & conversations with terrible upper middle class french people there doesn't even seem to be any useful debate about it, it's just like the immediate post-9/11 period: the evil menace probably(?) is responsible for killing a few dozen people so there is no question, we must carpet bomb and destroy all traces of their race from the earth.

there is no actual evidence linking this to any terrorist group. it was a man, who is dead, in a white truck that had some weapons in it, homicidal on the national holiday. that's all the evidence of anything.

of course it will be revealed that he had in his pocket a note that said "je suis Isis", also maybe he can be Russian this time for extra mileage??
