Where is the French, the English, the Italian revolution ? Where is the world revolution ? Messrs. Ebert, Scheidemann, Erzberger, Eisner, Hoffman and whatever all their names are have kept none of their promises, none whatsoever . Why ? Because no new idea of state guides them, because they think the new form of government should be, at best, class rule, or worse : a system of parliamentary compromises ; because they are so far from the true socialist state that they cannot summon the courage to lay a hand on the capitalist system; because they have not yet understood what the World War was really all about, namely, that it was the final battle of the international monetary powers for ultimate world domination .

Beat the squares with the tramp of rebels!
Higher, rangers of haughty heads!
We'll wash the world with a second deluge,
Now’s the hour whose coming it dreads.
Too slow, the wagon of years,
The oxen of days — too glum.
Our god is the god of speed,
Our heart — our battle drum.
Is there a gold diviner than ours/
What wasp of a bullet us can sting?
Songs are our weapons, our power of powers,
Our gold — our voices — just hear us sing!
Meadow, lie green on the earth!
With silk our days for us line!
Rainbow, give color and girth
To the fleet-foot steeds of time.
The heavens grudge us their starry glamour.
Bah! Without it our songs can thrive.
Hey there, Ursus Major, clamour
For us to be taken to heaven alive!
Sing, of delight drink deep,
Drain spring by cups, not by thimbles.
Heart step up your beat!
Our breasts be the brass of cymbals.

there was another poll of former soviet states last december, similar to the 2009 poll but only covering russia, ukraine and lithuania. while explicit nostalgia for the soviet union has decreased, (though still in the majority), dissatisfaction with capitalism and parliamentary democracy are at an all-time high, with more russians now disapproving of the change to a market economy than approving.

Raping and senseless killings by the troops were cracked down upon harshly, but due to how Soldiers are, its not like you can totally and utterly eliminate all instances of rape occuring if you have your military occupy a country (conducted by forces of the Churchill-Hitlerite coalition attempting to undermine the Red Army's advance ((So Yankees can exeggerate it))

A: Electricity.

theres a really funny part in a pelevin book (omon ra) about the lenin quote about electrification and says something like "because Communism is Soviet power plus the electrification of the whole country, soviet power is communism minus electrification."

the entire plot premise of the book, that the soviet space program was actually premised on sticking people inside probes and landers instead of figuring out how to automate the process (and that the program was also conducted in the moscow underground on sound stages even though the people that were 'sent up' were still supposed to die with their equipment, lol) is even funnier if you've just finished reading something like the soviet century that discusses bolshevik industrialization, because there's an entire theory about how the process was done using "a labor intensive variant of capital-intensive production," which is more or less exactly what Pelevin's fake space program is. basically he rules.

the soviet rapes, much like julian assange's so-called "crimes," were actually a coordinated smear campaign by hysterical frumpy prussian woman working to undermine the people's revolution for a chance at earning some sympathy. r/mensrights
