i accidently walked into a vegan sandwich shop the other day while trying to grab a quick bite between classes and i was served the most terrible thing ive ever eaten in my life. it was a "seitan" wrap and it tasted like toasted unsweetened grain brownies with some weird creamy mayo substitute. and the guy that made it was a cranky gay japanese man with a tiny little knit beret. everytime i've ever gone into a vegan place its been by accident and im always like stop being prejudiced the food is probably good, people eat it and enjoy it but its always awful

#85
if i was vegan i would only drink soy protein shakes and eat fresh fruits and vegetables. i also do that now

i have mice in my new apartment and i was like "how do they survive off so little food" and then i realized it was because they are small. like for the past 30-odd years i just assumed that mice needed thousands of calories a day to grind through existence.

vegan food is often gross tbqh. i eat cheese and egg products 4 that reason. i know i still perpetuate factory farming and the slaughter of bulls and roosters but i'm cool with being better than the vast majority of the population

warm bloodedness is a sick perversion. a crocodile your weight can live off of like 1500 calories a month.

yeah, i keep on telling myself to keep an open mind that there has to be good vegetarian food out there, but every time I've been to a vegan or vegetarian restaurant the food has been absolutely disgusting. like i hardly need meat in every dish, but it seems like something happens when you become a vegan that you stop being able to actually taste food like the rest of humnaity and manage to fuck up the most basic of dishes

yes exactly its like some kind of bizarre taste palette modeled on hospital and airline food

stuff that isn't trying to be vegan or vegetarian, like some indian or middle eastern dishes, are great

they need to eat a lot relative to their body size. this is why a lot of small mammals go after things high in energy like nectar or insects or whatever. you couldn't have a grazing mammal the size of a mouse.

i don't think there is a single person who self identifies as "accelerationist" alone, or believes that specifically but whatever

the way i've always seen "accelerationism" used, is with a notion of historical materialism in mind - that revolution is only possible when material conditions are right and not when trot pamphlets reach critical mass and everyone votes obama until reforms bring upon socialist utopia

rooted in historical materialism, by itself, it is not a complete or whole political ideology. as such, it's silly to see it being brought up and contended as a serious and radical ideology outside of marxism - because when it is pruned and out of context with marxist ideals, it's simply capitalism pro forma

either way, "accelerationism" isn't a Real Thing

someone said something about "unironic" accelerationists in this thread and i literally do not believe they exist. libertarians and their ilk actually believe if you salt and burn the earth then the Free Market will rise again and you'll have economic utopia. that's a pretty far cry from a leftist believing militarization of america to break up the black panthers benefited the global socialist movement or whatever

#115
the vegan restaurant, a stinking ghoul of a contradiction, celebrates a simple and easy moral choice with criminal complicity in the perpetuation of the food service industry, in every aspect, employees pitted against each other and the customer for shit wages, the unflinching food waste, mindless master-slave rituals permeating every facet of its operation

I think you are a bit strict with requiring an individual to take an ideologically 'pro-collapse' notion for accelerationism, a person doesn't necessarily need to wish for the crisis or promote it as much as it requires viewing it as an inevitability a sort of 'the ends will justify the death of billions' scenario.

a person who "believes" in some form socialist salvation yet awaits patiently for the final crisis of capitalism to come along while he cruises by living like anyone else can be considered an accelerationist of sorts.

but that's just how view it which might be dumb cause i am

#117
in that regard it's not so much as an ideology but rather an attitude towards politics that both denies that the possibility of a revolution while viewing reforms as reactionary.

it's a believee
