i visited my uncle in hospital and kept on saying how sorry i was that he had the Fail Aids and i kinda elongated the vowels so it went like Faaaaiiiiiil Aaaaiiiiids and danced around his bed repeating that over and over again and now that half of the family just refuses to speak to me now for some reason. i wasnt even invited to the funeral

i think i believe in an efficient market theory of political campaigning. like, one person isn't going to game the whole system and fix everything. things are going to plod along about the same whether i'm run ragged or if i just lounge around fatly. i want to learn about shit and be nice to people but like worrying about convincing people about shit seems like a waste of time.

i generally hang out with a crowd of really opinionated, stubborn american conservatives, so i keep my mouth shut and mooch as much free booze off of them as possible. whenever politics comes up though, i've been called a nazi, a communist, a socalist, scum, and, from time to time with heavy intoxication, a good ol american. i generally try to be as apolitical as possible so as to not get shot by the 15 concealed weapons in the room.

i don't claim that i'm a marxist or a socialist or anything, i just engage people on specific issues and try to bring up points that demonstrate the inherent insanity of the system we live in and most people tend to agree and understand. communism is at its heart about reconstructing genuine human social relations and there are many reasonable ways to articulate that aspiration to all sorts of people without being a tedious academic or a giant asshole. hth
