The crowd goes wild, Jools is stunned.

Director Oliver Stone paid respect to the "great hero" Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, the socialist leader who died on Tuesday at age 58.

''I mourn a great hero to the majority of his people and those who struggle throughout the world for a place," Stone said in a statement released Tuesday night. "Hated by the entrenched classes, Hugo Chavez will live forever in history."

"My friend, rest finally in a peace long earned," Stone added.

I wonder why personal disagreements cause such damage to the integrity of groups, even when they are over small issues, like finding a small difference in one's opinion of a book. I mean, I don't want to be a liberal or anything, but the fact that two different people can have two different readings of a book doesn't necessarily mean that one's right and one's wrong. I mean I always read here we need to adapt the implementation of communism or whatever to local conditions, why wouldn't we allow the adaptation of book's meanings to the local conditions that exist inside people's brains. And people can like different shows, as long as we all agree on the major things, the small things only serve as different metals to strengthen the overall alloy of the movement.

I knew it sounded kind of liberal. But honestly, we can't all be in agreement of every possible thing, and minute differences shouldn't cause arguments. Nazi's want everyone to be the same, communists should celebrate our minor differences.

idk i find the little sparring matches interesting and constructive to a degree (minus the silly 'he said WHAT about her gf over gchat?!' shit), the whole sickening thing about the liberal call to "celebrate our differences" is that it homogenizes those same differences while marginalizing anything that's directly hostile to the hegemony.

so yes we should "celebrate our differences" but in a wholly different sense, by pitting those differences in a ring and letting them fight it out in bloody struggle until the Correct Difference emerges victorious
