no, young children tend to have a class consciousness of sorts, a basic sense of justice and ruthless millennarian intent (the "cruelty of children") that is later suppressed. most important socialist movements are either trying to return to a childlike state of basic impulses (khmer rouge, the early western european socialist movements which were primarily playful youth movements promoting outdoor activity, later stolen by the nazis of course, china under mao, north korea), or are basically educational, trying to prevent the wrong kind of adulthood (sendero luminoso, bolshevism, hoxhaism) for good reason.

i get the sense that tao lin has never read a work of fiction in his life. like he grew up in a pod in Manhattan and was encouraged to write by some nonhumans who offered specific critique which given ample time and space has culminated in the great American works EEEEE and Tapei because whatever, he's one of the stupidest motherfuckers alive today
