one time someone i know was like "im not religious but i still believe in Something Beyond This Life because energy cannot be destroyed" and i said "well yes but it can change states and whatever 'energy' exists in the human brain dissipates as heat quickly after death" and they started crying a little

looking for ghosts is the rankest idealism. you should have been investigating the material relations that caused the area to become abandoned

one time a few years ago i felt sick when a friend was visiting so i slept for a few hours and he had to talk to my mom and i was like uh oh and he was like it was alright but she kept talking about how she thought your dog was a reincarnation of her grandmother.

A funny NYC thing is everyone is an unflinching non religious atheist who thinks ghosts and astrology are both extremely real.

where do ghosts get their energy to do ghost things. they dont eat or spend much if any time in sunlight. throwing pots around a room requires a decent amount of energy, especially with no apparent fulcrum. maybe they absorb ambient heat, which is why rooms appear to get cold before manifestations. if so, that is huge. the ability to directly turn waste heat into kinetic energy. what a godsend for our nation's power plants and server farms. simply kidnap young lovers and torture one to death in front of the other before killing them and you've got a permanent increase to your thermodynamic efficiency. even if, worst case, you cant figure out a way to direct the ghost's rage telekinesis it's still a huge reduction in your cooling bill, and in a much greener fashion with a negative carbon footprint

yeah. it's usually semi-expensive (in chinese terms) because it's like foreign restaurant food. i went to pizza hut and papa johns there and it was fine. they do have some of the weird japanese pizzas i guess as well, like, where you get just piles of corn on it or something.

i think you're right tpaine but we have to remember it applies so deeply to everything people believe that religion is just the tip of the crazy iceberg. also when you're depressed you sort of lose the necessary if bizarre chemical lubricants that make this all seem tolerable. like sometimes i'd read okcupid and women would be like i only date guys with brown hair or whatever and i'd be like what the hell this woman actually won't try to love someone if their hair is blonde what is wrong with the world. but if you're not depressed you're like yeah who'd want to date a male ginger good call lady.

If you got ash wednesday ashes on you, thats dope.

i might start going to catholic events and stuff in toronto and just evading the question of whether i believe in god. i mean like if i marry one of the girls fromt the catholic singles nights i'll tell them before the wedding. but otherwise i'm sitting in those pews politely thinking about how buff stalin was.

Maybe you're perfect right now. Maybe you don't want to ruin that. I think that's a super philosophy, Clarence. That way you can go through your entire life without ever having to really know anybody.

being a twitter n00b, i've been getting a lot of porn lately, mostly of young guys, on my twitter "activity" tab and i figured out today that that tab is based off of what the people you follow look at.

well the source ended up being from that one "mccaine" guy you all like to talk about. suffice to say, problem solved.

theres a big how do you do about how one of the bloated god-golems on tv said "if you're an atheist and you don't believe in Objective Morality then if a guy came into your house and raped and murdered your family how would you say its wrong" and all the internet atheists were weeping about no we believe in morality too and not just pointing out the obvious fact that Lard Priest doesn't have any coherent claim to objective morality either
