Pleased to see the love for Danny Brown. That man deserves it.

(not a fan of Lil B, but I love Clams' beats)

this is awesome, theres something in the alienated kinda vibe and the reverb on the snares that reminds me of really early dubstep lol

I can't tell whether you heard a sample that was also used in a Quasimoto track, or if you're commenting on Yelawolf's high-pitched voice. Please elucidate!

I think it's just similarly pitched-up vocals. Speaking of Quasimoto, I was about to post a series of tracks using the same sample from Planète Sauvage as Madlib used in Come on Feet (there's been a recent spate, if two qualifies as a spate) but I don't know if the rest of you sperg out over hip-hip production in the same way I do.

I like tracking down the original records that samples come from or just looking at how the use of a certain sample has progressed, like how the TRIGGAMAN beat became bounce music, or how Michael Jackson's "Lady in My Life" has been used for some of the weirdest and lewdest songs like 3 6 Mafia "Porno Movie" and Gangsta Pat's "I Wanna Smoke", so plz post

It turns out the sample was used in tracks by The Rascalz, KRS-One and Big Pun before Madlib flipped it for Come On Feet (which is probably still my favourite of the lot even if it isn't the OG). Not sure where Dilla's take on it fits chronologically since it just appeared on a beat CD in 2005. The way he was, I don't know whether he'd done it a decade earlier and just sat on it, or if it's something he messed around with after hearing other producers use it, thinking he could do something different with it. Anyway, I was a little surprised to hear it again, more than a decade after Quasimoto. I think sometimes producers don't want to recycle a sample after someone like Madlib's touched it, because he sets the bar pretty high.
